[fusion_text]Dr. Ruanni F. Tupas is an applied sociolinguist at the National Institute of Education in Singapore, the only teacher training institution in the country. He studied and taught at the University of the Philippines in Diliman and the National University of Singapore. He authored Second Language Teaching (UP Open University), edited (Remaking) Society: The Politics of Language, Discourse and Identity in the Philippines (UP Press) and Unequal Englishes: The Politics of Englishes Today (Palgrave), co-edited Language, Education and Nation-building: Assimilation and Shift in Southeast Asia (Palgrave), and Why English? Confronting the Hydra (Multilingual Matters, in-press). His works have appeared in a wide range of international journals, including Language and Education, World Englishes, Bilingualism and Bilingual Education, Multilingual and Multicultural Development, The Asia- Pacific Education Research, Language Teaching, Intercultural Education and Multicultural Discourses. Bambang Yudi Cahyono is a Professor in Applied Linguistics at Universitas Negeri Malang, East Java, Indonesia. He earned his MA from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada (2000) and PhD from the University of Melbourne, Australia (2006). [fusion_text]Prof. Dr. Stefanie Shamila Pillai is a Professor at the Department of English Language, Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, University of Malaya (UM). Her main areas of research interest are the segmental and prosodic features of spoken Malaysian English, and the revitalisation of Malacca Portuguese Creole or Cristang. Her initial work on the Creole was funded by, and has been archived in the Endangered Languages Archive (
http://elar.soas.ac.uk/deposit/0123). She is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics. She was the Deputy Dean for Postgraduate Studies of the Faculty from August 2014, and previously headed the University’s Centre for Industrial Training and Relations, which later expanded to become the Centre for Community and Industry Relations.
